This industry is still dominated by the traditional power brokers and gatekeepers, who like to pretend that you need to already be wealthy to become a real estate investor.
They don’t want you to know that anyone who’s got fire, passion, the desire for freedom and independence, and the ability to follow through on a proven process…
…can break free from trading time for money through real estate…
…that it doesn’t take a generation to create generational wealth…
…and for reasons we’ll explain in a moment, that you don’t need much money or any experience when you’re starting out.
You’ve also got the gurus who are trying to sell real estate as a get rich quick scheme.
Many of these folks got lucky on a few deals in a hot market, and now believe they know it all. They make ridiculous promises, like “you’ll close your first deal in 30 days”, and they’ll flash checks and show you pictures of their cars and their vacations.
Both of these extremes are just that, and you’re right to be suspicious.
Never listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t do something.
At the same time, be suspicious of anyone who tries to tell you that it’s easy.
Here’s the truth:
It takes some hustle and patience to create financial freedom in this business. It’s not a place for people who struggle with “follow-through”…
…but we’re living proof that investing in mentorship and coaching can give you a massive head start.
In 2017, we were in the same place that so many people find themselves in after they make career and life decisions based on “safety”.
But your job isn’t nearly as “safe” as corporate America would have you believe.
And trading your time for money is not a recipe for a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
We started out traditionally – we both went to top-tier colleges, got our degrees and quickly started working our way up the corporate ladder.
But we both realized what was in store for us: decades more of the rat race – and never getting truly compensated for what we were giving up…the best years of our lives.
By the time we accumulated any kind of wealth, it would be just enough to retire on, and we wouldn’t be leaving much behind for our kids.
We realized we wanted real freedom, the kind that only passive income could deliver.
There was one problem, however:
We simply didn’t have the kind of money that it would take to start creating meaningful passive income right away.
So we started looking for ways to get into real estate investing without much cash.
That’s when we discovered wholesaling.
This sounded too good to be true. How could you really buy a house for cash, then sell it before you buy it, with no money and without a real estate license?
But we took the leap and invested what money we had in some serious coaching, mentorship and a mastermind program where we learned the ropes of real estate wholesaling.
After a few months of hustle, sweat and a few false starts, we struck pay dirt.
We closed our first wholesale deal in August 2018 making $11K. A few weeks later we closed our 2nd deal netting $5K.
And a few weeks after that, we closed our 3rd deal, wholesaling a property located in Boston for…
…hang on to your hats…
…$105K, more than either of us made in a year!
This was the game changer for us.
Not too long after that, we were able to quit our jobs and focus on real estate wholesaling full time.
Our net worth quickly climbed into the millions and we were able to graduate to building a portfolio of 70 rental units worth over $10 million and growing…
…and then A&E approached us about doing a show!
We’re well on our way to creating that generational wealth that we imagined…
…the kind of wealth that not only has the capacity to change our lives, and the lives of our children’s children, but gives us the ability to make a real difference in this world.
Real estate continues to create new opportunities for us, as we’re now in the process of doing greenfield development, buying vacant land and literally building and enhancing communities.
We’re living our dream – and it all happened from a standing start, just a little over 7 years ago.
